Install and allow access
One download and one macOS permission — the same accessibility APIs that power VoiceOver. Nextline then sits in the menu bar.

Type like normal
Grey text appears ahead of your cursor with the rest of the line, wherever you happen to be writing.

Take the next word, or the whole line. Keep typing to ignore it — the suggestion re-predicts as you go.
Speed
The fastest keystroke is the one you skip.
The gain never comes from typing quicker. It comes from typing less — on the replies, follow‑ups, and status updates that make up most of a writing day, that tends to work out to around half the keystrokes. A first draft of something new gains less.

Does anything I type leave my Mac?
No. Every suggestion is generated by a language model running locally on your Mac, so your text — and the vocabulary Nextline learns from it — stays on the device.
Does Nextline work offline?
Yes. It all runs on your Mac, so suggestions keep working with no network at all.
What do I need to run it?
An Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later.
Which apps does it work in?
Most of them. Nextline finds your cursor through the same macOS accessibility APIs that power VoiceOver, which most apps support automatically. A handful of apps draw their own text on screen and can’t be reached that way — the full list is here.
Can Nextline fix my spelling and grammar?
Not yet. Today Nextline predicts what comes next rather than correcting what sits behind your cursor. Proofreading is what we’re building next.
